Overall Summary
Mejia is an overweight starter presently, with three pitches that work in the fringe-average to average range. Mejia has the pitchability and sequencing ability to get hitters out at the Double-A level but gets fatigued early and struggles to repeat his mechanics later in starts. His overall command profile is effected by this, and will ultimately effect his future role at the highest level. Early in games, Mejia can work all three pitches with average command and show the signs of a #5 starter but after 40-to-50 pitches, he gets tired and lazy within himself and all pitches play down. Overall, Mejia has the arsenal to contribute to a major league team in a long-relief role.
