Overall Summary
Alcantara's repertoire is propped up by a double-plus fastball with a slider that flashes plus early in games but loses effectiveness and bite as the outing progresses. Alcantara flashed a change with average movement but he didn't use it often in my viewing. He has middle of the rotation stuff but his consistency and command won't allow for him to remain a starter at the higher levels. He profiles well as a high leverage arm with a big fastball who could close.
