Player Notes
This is one of those debuts where if you're not cheering for this guy, no matter what team you root for, then you're just cold. Leon, who will turn 31 in September, is in his 13th pro season after having signed with the Astros in February of 2005 out of Venezuela. He moved up through the Houston system and finally made it to Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2011, then spent time in the Brewers organization (2013-14), the White Sox (2015), and pitched in the Mexican League (which is affiliated with MLB and comparable to a Triple-A level league) before inking with the Tigers as a free agent for 2017. He has posted a career 4.59 ERA in 610 1/3 innings pitched in that time, striking out 512, and also pitched for Venezuela in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
