Debut Details
June 2, in a 10-0 win against the Phillies. The starting right fielder, he batted eighth and went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. In the first inning, he came up with the bases loaded and two outs against right-handed starter Jerad Eickhoff and grounded out to shortstop. In the third, with one out, he grounded out to second. In the fourth, with two outs and one on, he drew a four-pitch walk off of right-handed reliever Mark Leiter Jr. In the sixth, with two on and one out, he singled to center to drive in Brandon Crawford and then came around to score on a double to center by Eduardo Nunez. In the eighth, he led off the inning by striking out swinging against right-handed reliever Luis Garcia. In the ninth, with one out and the bases loaded, he struck out looking against right-handed reliever Edubray Ramos.

Player Notes
The Stanford University product is a converted shortstop who has been adding some power to his game of late. In 2016, he led the Giants' farm system in OBP (.393) and OPS (.893) while hitting a combined .305 with 18 home runs, 67 RBIs and a .500 slugging percetnagebetween Richmond (Double-A) and Sacramento in 109 games. In 2014, he batting a combined .294 in 114 games between San Jose (High A) and Richmond with just three home runs. Overall, he brought a .308/.371/.442 slash line into his big league debut in San Francisco, known as a promising bat though he could probably use a little more seasoning in the plate discipline department.
