Astin, who ranked No. 20 in Baseball America's Reds organizational prospects list coming into 2017, had been a closer for the Arkansas Razorbacks during their 2012 College World Series quest but moved into the rotation after that and started his career in the Brewers system as a starter. After acquiring him via trade in 2014, the Reds moved him back to the bullpen and that shift hoisted him right past Triple-A to the big leagues. He has thrived with a fastball/slider combination that features a low- to mid-90s sinker.|
