Player Notes
Sisco, taken by the Orioles out of Santiago High School in Corona, California, was Baseball America's Orioles Minor League Player of the Year in 2016 when he combined to hit .317 with six home runs, 51 RBIs and a .403 OBP/.430 SLG between Bowie (Double-A) and Norfolk and also came into 2017 as their No. 1 prospect in the system, lauding him as the club's best hitter for average and having its best strike zone discipline. Despite a slow start at Norfolk to start this year and some struggles along the way, appearing in just 97 games, he's still highly regarded for his plus arm, plate patience and excellent package of athleticism, tools and defensive promise. The left-handed hitter only switched to catcher in recent years, coming through high school as a shortstop, but he's proven to be a quick learner. The bat was always there, as he hit .363 in a brief pro debut in 2013, .340 in 2014 when he won the South Atlantic League batting title at Delmarva (Class A), and .297 between Frederick (High A) and Bowie in 2015 at age 20.
