Debut Details
April 24, in a 6-3 loss to the Orioles. The last of three pitchers, he tossed one perfect inning, though he did allow his lone inherited runner to score. Of nine pitches, five were for strikes. Coming on with the bottom of the eighth in relief of right-handed reliever Ryan Garton with Welington Castillo on third base and no outs, Hu got Hyun Soo Kim to ground out to shortstop for the first out before Jonathan Schoop hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Castillo. J.J. Hardy made the final out of the inning on a fly to center.

Player Notes
Signed for a modest $220,000 (modest as far as international talent goes) by the Twins back in 2012, Hu brings a fastball in the high 90s, a palm ball, an 11-to-5 curveball to the mix but it is his double-plus changeup that is his bread and butter. In his career, he's combined for a 2.79 ERA and limited opposing hitters to a .235 average, leading the Double-A Southern League in ERA in 2016 with a 2.59 mark at Montgomery before a brief late-season promotion to Durham. He also pitched in the MLB Futures Game last summer in San Deigo.
