Debut Details
June 29, in a 4-3 Yankees loss to the White Sox. In one of the most heart-breaking scenes since Adam Greenberg was hit in the head with the first pitch he saw in the big leagues, Fowler was carted off the field in the bottom of the first inning in his debut after crashing into the side railing while chasing a foul ball. The game had been delayed by three hours due to rain and Fowler had yet to take his first at-bat. He suffered a ruptured patella tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

Player Notes
One of the Yankees’ top position player prospects coming into the season, Fowler made the transition from Double-A to Triple-A look easy. In just 70 games, he already eclipsed the double-digit plateau for home runs (13) and stolen bases (13). The 22-year-old has been a steady performer in the Yankees’ system since signing with the team out of West Laurens HS (Dexter, GA) in 2013, but his bat has taken a big step forward this year. He is also an excellent defender in center field.
