Player Notes
Taken with the ninth overall pick in 2015 out of the University of Cincinnati, the switch-hitting Happ didn't need much time to make the jump to the bigs, especially after capping his sensational 2016 season with a four-hit game in his last outing at Double-A Tennessee, homering from both sides of the plate to finish the summer with a combined .279 average between Tennessee and Myrtle Beach (High A) to go with 15 home runs, 73 RBIs, 16 steals and a .445 slugging percentage. The number two prospect according to our 2017 Cubs Organizational Review. He has legit power from both sides of the plate, and basically brings all the tools you look for in a polished package.
