Player Notes
Reinheimer, who was originally drafted by the Mariners out of East Carolina University, can play shortstop and second and can serve as a solid utility infielder. A fine defender with good instincts, an accurate arm and serviceable speed, he has minimal power and an average bat but his defense and other intangibles could make for a long, successful career in the majors. In 2016, he hit .288 with two home runs and 48 RBIs at Reno, adding 20 stolen bases and 28 doubles after having hit a combined .270 with five home runs, 42 RBIs and 21 steals between Jacksonville (Double-A) and Mobile (Double-A). He stole a career-high 39 bases in 2014 at a pair of stops, Clinton (Class A) and High Desert (High A), and brings a career .278/.346/.362 slashline into his big league debut. For now, though, he's back in the minors, optioned on August 4 when the Diamondbacks activated INF Ketel Marte from the bereavement list. |
