Player Notes
Bowman, who finished second in the minors in losses in 2015, has some interesting MLB connections, as he is the nephew of Bob Bowman, the President and CEO of MLB Advanced Media. An Ivy Leaguer from the suburbs of Washington, D.C., he moved up quickly when he signed, seeing time at two levels of Single A in his first two seasons when he went a combined 10-4 with a 3.05 ERA in 21 starts, and then going 10-8 with a 4.02 ERA in 24 games between Binghamton (Double-A) and Las Vegas in 2014, with 124 strikeouts in 134.1 IP, walking just 36. The Cards rarely participate in the Rule 5 Draft, but they were willing to take a shot on Bowman.
