Player Notes
Originally drafted out of Lakewood Ranch High School (Bradenton, FL) by the Orioles back in 2009, Ohlman spent most of his career working through the Os' ranks with some significant success, including earning Topps' Carolina League Player of the Year honors in 2013 when he hit .313 with 13 home runs, 53 RBIs and 29 doubles for the Frederick Keys (High A). But he never made it to Triple-A until 2016, after signing with the Cardinals as a free agent in the 2015 offseason. He spent the next two summers in the St. Louis system, hitting .273 with 12 home runs and 69 RBIs in 103 games at Springfield (Double-A) in 2015 and then, after once again declaring free agency and re-upping with the Cards, splitting the 2016 campaign between Springfield and Memphis (Triple-A), batting .287 with seven home runs, 44 RBIs and 12 doubles. This past offseason he took his catcher's gear and bat north of the border, and it paid off with his first call-up to the big leagues.
