Player Notes
Drafted out of LaCosta Canyon High School in California, Evans' role has shifted from shortstop prospect into potential utilityman extraordinaire this season, as he's seen time at second base, third base and left field in order to help his chances of reaching the big leagues. Despite some struggles at the plate in his early years, including a rough time at St. Lucie (High A) in 2015 when he hit just .234 with no homers and 32 RBIs in 77 games, he turned things around big-time in 2016, starting back at St. Lucie for his third go-round there but moving up to Binghamton and combining between the two stops to hit .321 with eight homers, 41 RBIs and 30 doubles in 105 games for a .460 SLG.
