Debut Details
May 31, in a 17-6 blowout win against the Twins. The fourth of five pitchers, he allowed one run on two hits in two innings, walking two and striking out two. Coming on to start the bottom of the seventh inning in relief of left-handed reliever Tony Sipp and with the Astros leading 12-5, he struck out Brian Dozier swinging before allowing a single to center by Jorge Polanco. After Max Kepler struck out looking, Robbie Grossman grounded into a 6-4 force place to end the inning. In the eighth, Eddie Rosario led off with a double to right. After Eduardo Escobar grounded out to short, Chris Gimenez drew a walk. Jason Castro grounded out to short to advance the runners to second and third and Byron Buxton drew a walk to load the bases. With Brian Dozier up, a wild pitch from Guduan allowed Rosario to score before Dozier grounded out to short to end the inning.

Player Notes
In his eighth pro season, all with the Astros, Guduan has only been exposed to full season ball recently, after spending his first two summers in the Dominican Summer League, the next two in the Gulf Coast League, and his fifth in the Short-Season A Appalachian League, all the lower developmental levels of short-season ball. In 2015, though, he moved through three levels, from Quad City (Class A) to Lancaster (High A) and Corpus Christi (Double-A), combining to go 4-6 with a 5.52 ERA in 35 games of relief, striking out 59 and walking 33 in 45 2/3 innings, allowing 38 hits. In 2016 between Corpus Christi and Fresno he combined for a 4.18 ERA in 43 games out of the pen, striking out 63 and walking 37 while allowing 50 hits in 56 innings and also earning a spot on the Astros' 40-man roster.
