Player Notes
Rodriguez has been showing absolutely no ill effects this season after missing all of 2016 and much of 2015 to Tommy John surgery, and showed the same polish and sharpness when he FINALLY made his debut after seven days riding the pine in the big leagues. He brings an 11 1/3-inning scoreless streak with him from the minors, and over his career has combined for a 2.80 ERA with 34 saves in 39 attempts, striking out 259 while walking just 67 in 263 2/3 innings, including spending his first three pro seasons in the Dominican Summer League. He was the Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Month in April when he returned to the mound this past spring. He brings plus control and a deceptive delivery to the mound, and he can locate his mid-90s fastball to either side of the plate. He also has a plus curveball.
