| June 24, in a 5-2 loss to the Mets. The starting third baseman, he batted seventh and went 0-for-4. In the third, facing Mets right-handed starter Jacob deGrom, he grounded out to second. In the fifth, he flew out to center. In the seventh, he grounded out to first. In the ninth, facing right-handed reliever Addison Reed with two outs, one on and one run in, he grounded out to second to end the game. |
Player Notes
| The Watauga High School (Boone, NC) product is a strong-armed infielder with some good pop and was summoned to the bigs just two months into his Triple-A debut, pretty much in line with the swift pace the Giants have set for him since he signed as a teenager. In 2016 at Richmond (Double-A) he hit .247 with 15 home runs and 67 RBIs along with 26 doubles in 126 games after hitting .268 with six home runs, 47 RBIs and 29 doubles in 105 games at San Jose (High A). He'd split 2014 between Salem-Keizer (Short-Season A) and Augusta (Class A), combining to bat .225 with 10 home runs and 67 RBIs in 118 games. |
