Debut Details
September 20, in a 9-0 loss to the Red Sox. The third of four pitchers on the night, he allowed two runs, both earned, on two hits and two walks in one inning, striking out one. Of 28 pitches thrown, 13 were for strikes. Coming on to start the eighth for right-handed reliever Mike Wright, Sam Travis singled to right to lead off. After Deven Marrero struck out swinging, Sandy Leon drew a walk but was erased when Jackie Bradley, Jr., hit into a force out at second to put runners at the corners with two outs. Xander Bogaerts then walked to load the bases and Dustin Pedroia followed with a two-run double to right, scoring Travis and Bradley before Andrew Benintendi lined out to right to end the inning.

Player Notes
Very possibly the Orioles' closer of the future, Scott was drafted out of Howard Junior College (TX) and has amassed a career .200 BAA while striking out 251 in 198 2/3 innings thanks to what Baseball America calls the best fastball in the system along with a slider. His heat touches 100 mph, especially impressive for a lefty. He spent most of 2016 at Frederick (High A) with a late promotion to Bowie, combining for a non-representative combined 4.76 ERA in 43 games, but limited hitters to a .179 BAA, including a .133 in 43 games with the Keys.
