Debut Details
June 27, in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Wade entered the game in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter and drew a one-out walk that ignited a three-run rally for the Yankees. Wade came around to score later in that inning, tying the game at 1-1. Wade would bat again in the ninth inning, this time striking out on a called third strike with a full count. The Yankees would take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but the White Sox rallied for a walk-off win. Primarily an infielder in the minor leagues, Wade made his defensive debut as a left fielder in the bottom of the eighth inning. Brett Gardner took over for Wade in left in the bottom of the ninth.

Player Notes
Selected out of Murrieta Valley HS (Murrieta, CA) in 2013, Wade made steady progress through the New York Yankees’ chain, culminating with his arrival in Triple-A at the start of the 2017 season. Wade’s bat has taken a big step forward this season, as he has career-bests in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage at the time of his big league promotion. Typically a shortstop, Wade can also play second base and a little bit of outfield, as he demonstrated in his debut. He has good speed and has stolen at least 20 bases in all four of his full professional seasons, including this year.
