Hit 40 50 Compact stroke with a simple, easy load; quiet hands, has minimal movement while ball is traveling. Slight uphill plane with two-handed finish. Patient approach, knowledge of strike zone; comfortable hitting with two strikes; handles both RHP/LHP. Has some drift and can get heavy on the front side, but does a good job keeping hands back. Gets plate coverage and is a good athlete with simple mechanics; ability to make adjustments.

Raw Power 50 60 Slight uphill plane, short to ball, creates good back-spin carry to both gaps. Ability to drive ball out to all fields. Can see him getting to Future 65-grade in-game power. 70-grade raw power presently.

Overall Summary
Big-bodied first baseman with an advanced approach at the plate and plus power and on-base potential. Stays short to the ball and has simple mechanics to go with solid knowledge of the zone. Sees pitches (top five in Carolina League at pitches per at-bat), but not passive, looks to get his pitch. Covers the outer-third of the plate well and has ability to drive the ball to all fields. Has some drift, and will get out on the front side at times, but is a good athlete and the easy actions and simple mechanics should allow him to make adjustments. Has some big strikeout numbers now (30% K-rate), but consistently in deep counts and has shown above-average on-base ability as a pro (career .373 OBP since 2014). Similar production vs. RHP and LHP. Better athlete than the body lets on; below-average range at first base, but feet work well around the bag and he has body control; can see him getting to fringe average at position. Adjusted OFP up to Role 50 to account for run-producing bat.
