Overall Summary
Davidson is a natural first baseman trying to play passable right field defense. His hand hitch, limited barrel control and limited pitch recognition skills allow for a ton of swing and miss at the plate. He is passive when ahead in the count (looking to draw a walk) and will expand the strike zone when behind. Davidson features a strong body and plus raw power to the opposite field, but his barrel drags through the hitting zone and he is unable to pull anything with authority. With his swing, velocity on the inner half and average secondaries give him trouble and that does not bode well as he reaches the upper minors. Seeing Davidson swing and miss a ton and play below average defense leads him to be an organizational player with a possible left-handed emergency bench bat ceiling.
