Fastball
Fastball 45 50 89-92 92 Straight, but gets some life in the zone. Angle plays up the average velo. Below-average command; seems to lack confidence with it. Athletic kid and should see an uptick in command going forward. Has some room to get stronger and can see an extra 1-2 mph future.

ChangeUp
ChangeUp 50 50 76-79 79 Best pitch, confidence and will use any time. Arm action sells it; shows dive from middle to arm side; has some feel to locate in the zone. Can be a weapon vs. RHH.

Overall Summary
Lefty reliever with some deception in the delivery and command of an average changeup. Throws strikes, but below-average command in the zone with the fastball. Fastball is straight, but he creates some angle that plays up the velo slightly, and will drop down on occasion and get some arm-side tail. Changeup is his best secondary; arm action sells it and he has some confidence to use it in any count. Shows late dive with feel locate in the zone. Curveball is gradual, has a big shape, but lacks snap; for strikes and has deception in the delivery play it up slightly. Should get to fringe average. Backed off and was very tentative with runners on base; starts to nibble and works into bad counts; pitched backwards and did not show much confidence in the fastball. Was much better, aggressive when starting with a clean inning. Shows some ability to mix his pitches and seems to understand the value of his ability to create deception and change speeds. Does not have the power stuff to battle back from bad counts, so will need to attack the zone and look for soft contact to be effective at the next level. Old for the level, but athletic and should see some improvement. Expect TEX to push him up quickly if he has success in High A.
