Physical Description
Big, thick bodied; rolled shoulders, soft midsection. Strong lower half. Will require some maintenance; better athlete than the body lets on.
Mechanical Notes
Athletic delivery and arm action. Medium arm circle with a hook in back. Big arm swing behind his body a mild concern, but still seems to get the arm out front on time. High leg lift, stays tall and drives downhill; slight turn over the rubber. Tends to drift forward.

Overall Summary
Thick-bodied LHRP with big arm strength, an above-average slider and potential to generate some swing and miss. Smooth, athletic delivery with no major blocks preventing him from locating the fastball to the glove side. Does a good job staying down in the zone; misses tend to stay down, but he will go up with purpose. Has some feel for the slider/cutter combo, but lacks that real third pitch going away from RHH. Have heard rumors of a circle changeup, but have not seen it in these AFL looks. He throws strikes, but has below-average command in the zone. The arm works well, has repeatable mechanics, so I can see the command improving; has had low innings totals thus far in his pro career and will benefit from increased workloads. The body will always be a concern, but he is a better athlete than you might expect when you first see him. Still very young and if he develops a serviceable changeup then could make the case for him as a back-of-the-rotation piece. But as of now projects best in the bullpen.
