Physical Description
Large, broad, muscular frame w/ power look. Similar build to Mike Foltynewicz (ATL). Has had Tommy John (2013) and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; missed all of 2013+2015 w/ injury.
Mechanical Notes
SWU w/ effort throughout; high front side to hide the ball; short, closed stride w/ hard landing impacts command; plunged, off-line arm-circle shows on backside w/ inverted-w effort at foot-strike. Mechanics limit command and durability in SP role but won't hurt him as much in relief.

Overall Fastball Value 50 60 Heavy upper-90s would hold its own in the big leagues right now. Plus pitch when aired out in relief facing lineups just once.

Fastball Velocity 70 70 95 93-98 Holds 94-95 all game and reaches back for 97-98 early. Double-plus velo that could tick up to triple-digits in short-stint role.

Fastball Command
Fastball Command 40 45 More control than command; relies on velocity and life to get away w/ his spots. Has the stuff to challenge up in the zone. Less pressure on command in relief.

Curveball
Curveball 50 55 80 79-82 Hard spin w/ flashes of power bite and sharp two-plane action. Best ones show like swing/miss pitches already, can make it an out pitch w/ more consistency.

ChangeUp
ChangeUp 30 40 88 87-89 Crude third pitch that lags behind FB/CB mix. Limited feel, overthrows and struggles to get separation. Lack of CH will make it hard to turn over LH-heavy lineups at ML level.

Control
Control 40 45 FB around the zone, CB occasionally for strikes but comes and goes. CH rarely over the plate. Overpowers at this level and gets more chases than he would against ML hitters. Intense mound presence translates well to late innings.

Overall Summary
Best-case upside of stuff-over-feel #5 SP, though CH will have to make strides. Mechanical effort and injury history realistically point to the 'pen, where loud two-pitch mix will play up. Has the stuff to pitch leverage innings in a setup role.
