Overall Summary
Strong, mature-bodied LHRP with two fringe-average or better secondary pitches to go with a plus fastball. High-maintenance, max-effort delivery and arm action add some deception and give him some margin for error in the zone, but he has below-average command and inconsistent feel with the breaking balls. He creates some angle and can drive the fastball downhill which plays up the velo, and he will get some chase on the slider when he's on, but misses up in zone often and the fastball gets very hittable. Has an idea, but poor execution limits usability of secondary. Stuff likely is what it is now. He is a good athlete and should find enough consistency to be effective as a situational arm in the pen. Comparable to Tony Sipp at the major league level.
