Physical Description
Well proportioned and athletic with strong lower half; mature build
Mechanical Notes
Easily repeatable delivery; simple step, turn, leg-lift motion with his hands sitting at his waist. Gets his arm out of the glove quickly into a short circle behind him and drives towards the plate out of a 3/4 arm slot. At his best when he is getting good extension, allowing him to get his hand on top of the ball and creating good downhill action. Can rush down the hill at times; needs to gather over the rubber to prevent being up in the zone.

Fastball
Fastball 60 60 92-94 96 Quick arm and good extension allows ball to explode onto hitters; at its best can get arm-side tail. Up to 98 back in college. Better ability to spot to arm side compared to glove side; will flatten out and be up when command is off. Can lose plate (22 BB in 63 Inn).

Slider
Slider 55 60 82-84 86 Tight, late lateral/downward break. Ability to locate on glove side and can dial back spin to throw for strikes early in the count; Out pitch when he is ahead in the count. Gets a lot of weak contact and swing and miss to RHH. Should play up in shorter bullpen stints

Overall Summary
Athletic, strong right-handed reliever with a strong lower half. Plus fastball and potential plus slider that generate both swing and miss and weak contact. Repeatable, simple delivery allows arm to get into position quickly; max effort and has late life when creating good downhill angle. Attacks hitters with fastball early in count; can become predictable. Throws inside inconsistently; better command to glove side and utilizes this to set up off-speed stuff. Above-average slider is best secondary pitch; can spot to glove side; will throw against hitters on both sides of plate and get hitters to chase outside zone. Changeup is a show pitch currently; at it's best can have light tumble and keeps batters off balance. Can lose command for stretches; ability to battle even when stuff isn't at it's best. Bulldog mentality; willing to show some fire on mound after big outs. Will have to develop a third pitch; was told there was a curveball, but didn't see in this look. Can see him rising faster through system by coming out of bullpen; tools and pitch sequence plays up and body could handle the regular wear.
