Overall Summary
Crichton works both his fastball and slider to LHH and RHH. Although his slider lacks feel and control at times, he was able to throw the pitch in favorable hitters' counts. His delivery quickens with runners on, which causes him to rush his motion to the plate. His fastball velocity allows him to work as a middle-inning reliever, as long as he can produce an average secondary pitch (his slider). The fastball can be flat at times, while also missing his target. Although he showed inconsistent release points with his slider, the pitch does have a late-diving action when it's on. His control problems were not likely a problem at the lower levels, as hitters swung at borderline pitches, but as he moves through the system, his command will need to improve.
