Overall Summary
Four-pitch mix guy who pounds the zone with below-average stuff, keeps the ball on the ground and has some feel for pitching. Gives up a lot of contact, but looks to change speeds and has some deception in the delivery and the arm action. Works quick and is aggressive, not afraid to work inside to both RHH and LHH, but lacks a real swing-and-miss pitch. Mature body and has some effort in the arm action; tough to project much more velo coming out. Can throw strikes, but below-average ability to locate in the zone and very hittable when it's left up. Flashed an average changeup, but used sparingly; arm action plays it up, but lacks confidence and feel. Overall, he is a pitchabilty guy who is changing speeds well, and getting swing and miss off the slider, but he lacks a real weapon going away from LHH. Having a breakout season, but slightly old for the level. If the ground ball rates continue, fastball command improves and he can get more consistent with the changeup, could see him having emergency value out of the pen.
