The once rail-thin righty has filled out his 6’3” frame with a good 25 pounds, running his above-average fastball up to 97 mph and sitting 94-to-95 mph across my three-inning view. He pairs it with an average 85-to-86 mph changeup that was inconsistent in both movement and location, but it flashed plus drop action at its best. His command is spotty, and while there’s enough of a a third pitch (a low-80s power curveball), to keep working him as a starter, Ramos future fits better as a Role 40 middle-reliever, with a chance to grab an emergency start if needed. |
