Gonzalez is a plus defender who goes between 2B and SS, with an athletic and projectable frame that has room to add more offensive strength. His arm is strong enough for the left side of the infield, and how much he thickens up will dictate whether the ultimate defensive home is SS or 3B. An above-average runner, Gonzalez does not project to hit for much power, but he has a sound plate approach and line drive swing that plays to both gaps. He has the upside of a Role 45 part-time player, most likely landing in a utility role. |
