Marcano signed with the Phillies just after his 18th birthday in 2018, getting into his first professional action last year in the DSL. While undersized, he’s athletic and twitchy, able to fire fastballs in the 90-to-93 mph range from a quick arm. He showed some feel to spin the ball, getting shapely three-quarters action on a 76-to-78 mph curveball that rarely landed for a strike. Marcano is more a longshot follow than a true prospect at this point, though his loose arm and fastball/curve combo caught my eye in a quick backfields look. |
