NOTES FROM THE FIELD, ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE:

  • Tall and lanky frame, gawky and unathletic mound actions.
  • Stretch-only delivery, struggles to repeat. Finishes cross-body and stumbles down the mound, finishes off-line. 3/4 slot.
  • FB 91-94 (92); Sinkerballer with avg velocity. Lower slot gives natural running action. More control than command with FB.
  • SL 80-82; Primary off-speed, wide glider that’s hard for RHH to stay in on. Playable pitch, though not a bat-misser.
  • CH 84-85; Rare wrinkle to LHH, below-avg pitch that he doesn’t have feel for. Slows his arm and guides it.
  • Sinker/slider style ‘pen arm, keeps both pitches around the plate w/ avg control. 

SUMMARY: Older prospect who is fully developed. Lacks carry tool to hold down full-time ML role. Profiles as solid AA/AAA relief depth who could get to the big leagues in a cup of coffee role in an emergency situation.
