NOTES FROM THE FIELD, INSTRUCTS:

XL frame, broad and muscular throughout. Limited athlete.
Deliberate operation, only pitches from the stretch. Clearly is trying to simplify to throw strikes, but gives hitters good look.
FB 89-92; Fringy velo but generates easy, could be more in tank as he builds back mound time. Flat and lacking movement.
Cutter 86-88; Second pitch, short action without depth, trouble throwing it for strikes.
SL 81-83; True slider action when he takes something off his cutter. Doesn’t have much confidence in it. Showed two.
Struggles with control and command. Sprayed the zone and frequently had to just lay it over to throw a strike.

SUMMARY: Ex #2 overall pick who has struggled to find himself in pro ball. Looks like an organizational prospect at this point.
