Bo Takahashi
Takahashi signed with Arizona from Brazil as an amateur in 2013. He reached Double-A for the first time in 2018 and pitched in the Fall League after last season. Repeating the level this year, he has been named a mid-season all-star in the Southern League after a strong 12 starts in the first half. Fringy stuff could make fitting as a true back-rotation starter a bit of an uphill task, but Takahashi’s pitchability ad control could still fill a big league role. The fastball sits in the upper-80s and touches 90-91 mph, backed by two usable breaking pitches and a change. This type of pitching prospect can wind up an upper-minors or 4A type if no one attribute carries the profile, but the upside is a versatile longman/spot-starter or mopup type. |
