Player Notes
The older brother of Astros catching prospect Max Stassi had less hype than his sibling did, making his climb as a 33rd-rounder out of Nevada, but he was one of the biggest surprises this spring, making the Phillies as an unheralded non-roster invitee. His teary reaction caught on video became a viral sensation. After hitting just .232 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs at Reading (Double-A) in 2014, Stassi returned there for a second go-round in 2015 and caught some eyes, batting .300 with 15 home runs and 90 RBIs. He continued to flash power in his Triple-A debut in 2016, earning the camp invite and becoming one of the biggest feel-good stories this spring. |
