Debut Details
September 12, in a 16-0 win against the Padres. The last of four pitchers, he walked one and struck out one in one hitless inning. Of 13 pitches, eight were for strikes. Coming on in the top of the ninth for right-handed reliever Michael Tonkin, he got Yangervis Solarte to ground out to first base. After walking Wil Myers, Cory Spangenberg flew out to left field. Myers moved to second on a balk before Jabari Blash struck out looking.

Player Notes
If there have been many (any?) short-relief specialists in the minors this year with better numbers and success than Moya, feel free to show them to me. Acquired by the Twins from the Diamondbacks mid-season in what certainly looks on paper to be one of the potential steals of the summer, Moya combined a plus changeup with a straight fastball in the low 90s to have pretty much dominated opposing hitters in his two full seasons of action. After spending his first four pro seasons in the Dominican Summer League and then Missoula in the Pioneer League (Rookie), he combined for a 1.55 ERA in 52 games between Kane County (Class A) and Visalia (High A) in 2016, his first full season, striking out 82 and walking 17 in 63 2/3 innings while scattering 38 hits. A Southern League All-Star this past summer before the trade he went two months without allowing an earned run and overall led the league in SO/9 (13.42) and baserunners per nine (7.10) as well as average against for relievers (.150). Counting his short-season stints, he's posted a 2.57 career ERA and fanned 336 in 263 innings, allowing 207 hits while walking 74 for a .215 BAA.
