Debut Details
June 9, in a 13-4 loss to the Rays. The starting left fielder, he batted ninth and went 0-for-4. In the top of the third with one on and no one out, facing right-handed starter Alex Cobb, he lined out to center. In the fifth, with two outs, he flew out to left. In the seventh, facing right-handed reliever Ryan Garton, he grounded out to second with two outs. In the ninth inning, facing right-handed reliever Danny Farquhar, he struck out with one out.

The BYU product, who had been drafted out of high school back in the 39th round of 2010 by the Yankees but opted to attend college to develop, comes off of a 2016 season split between Midland (Double-A) and Nashville where he combined to hit .285 with 12 home runs, 87 RBIs and seven stolen bases along with 33 doubles for a .347 OBP and .438 SLG. He broke out ion style when he started full season ball, 2014 when he combined between Beloit (Class A) and Stockton (High A) to hit .280 with 21 home runs, 72 RBIs and 25 doubles for a .506 SLG, leading the system in several categories.
