Debut Details
April 5, in a 9-1 win over the Royals. The last of six pitchers, he tossed a perfect ninth inning, throwing 13 pitches without allowing a ball out of the infield. The first batter he faced, Eric Hosmer, grounded out to shortstop, Salvador Perez grounded out to third base and Paulo Orlando grounded out to second to end the game.

Player Notes
A Rule 5 Draft pick in 2016, Haley saw time in both starting and relief roles during spring training and made the club's bullpen, sealing the deal with 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball in his last spring appearance. The Fresno State product comes armed with a fastball in the low 90s, a plus slider, a changeup and a curveball. He led the Red Sox' farm system in ERA in 2016 after going 5-16 with a 5.15 ERA in 27 starts at Portland (Double-A) in 2015, when he fanned 95 and walked 50 in 124 innings.
