Player Notes
Originally drafted by Baltimore out of Farragut H.S. Knoxville, Tn.), Delmonico was dealt to the Brewers on July 23, 2013 for RHP Francisco Rodriguez before being released by the Brewers on February 6, 2015, while he was serving a suspension for testing positive for amphetamines. Though he had been dealing with personal and medical issues during his time with the Brewers, he has come around in a big way in his time with the White Sox, and was one of the final non-roster invitees cut out of spring training. In 2016, he hit a combined .279 in 110 games between Birmingham (Double-A) and Charlotte, leading the organization with 17 home runs and a .490 SLG., adding 30 doubles and posting a .347 OBP. In 2017, he was named a mid-season All-Star in the International League. The club loves his sweet left-handed swing, his makeup and his leadership. He may still be a player in search of a position, but could be a valuable bat off the bench.
