Player Notes
Urena's strong arm and excellent defense combined with a solid and improving bat get him a lot of well-deserved love among those who do the rankings. He's refined his plate approach and oozes athleticism. At just 21 years old, he's still got plenty of time to continue that upward quest as he's putting together all those solid tools. In 2016, he combined to hit .295 in 127 games between Dunedin (High A) and New Hampshire, adding eight home runs, 59 RBIs, nine steals, 24 doubles and 12 triples after batting .262 between Lansing (Class A) and Dunedin in 2015, where he hit 16 homers and added 66 RBIs in 121 games. He'd hit .300 or better i his 2013 and 2014 short-season campaigns. His 36 doubles this past season still held a comfortable lead atop the Eastern League leader board with two days left in the regular season.
