Player Notes
Taijeron, just finishing up his seventh pro season and his third at Las Vegas, was drafted out of Cal Poly Pomona and has been one of the most prolific sluggers in the Mets' system, posting an SLG over .500 in five of those seven seasons. With that kind of big-swing power come the strikeouts as well, as he whiffed 146 times this season. However, he's hit over .270 four of the last five seasons and adds doubles along with the long ball. In 2016, he led the Mets system in runs scored (86), total bases (235) and doubles (42) and tied for the system lead in home runs (19) while also fanning 162 times, but hit .275 with 88 RBIs, a .372 OBA and a .512 SLG that season while also earning Pacific Coast League Top Star of the Game honors at the Triple-A All-Star Game. In 2015 at Vegas he hit .274 with 25 home runs, 71 RBIs and 22 doubles (and 147 strikeouts), adding a .393 OBP and a .536 SLG in his Triple-A debut.
