Debut Details
September 12, in a 9-8 15-inning win against the Marlins. The third of nine pitchers, he allowed one hit in two-thirds of a scoreless inning. Of seven pitches thrown, nine were for strikes. Coming on in the top of the seventh in relief of left-handed reliever Hoby Milner, he got Giancarlo Stanton to ground out to shortstop and Christian Yelich to fly out to left. After Marcell Ozuna singled to right, he was relieved by left-handed reliever Kevin Siegrist.

Player Notes
Arano's 2017 numbers were only a partial helping as he was sidelined by biceps tendinitis for awhile, which slowed him during spring training. Originally signed by the Dodgers out of the Mexican League's Mexico City Red Devils in 2013, he spent some time as a starter with a four-pitch arsenal of a fastball in the middle 90s, a plus slider which is his out pitch, as well as a changeup and a curveball. Now moving to short relief, the latter two pitches may not get as much play but they're there if he needs them. In 2016 he combined between Clearwater (High A) and Reading (Double-A) to go 5-2 with a 2.26 ERA in 46 games, striking out 95 and walking just 19 in 79 2/3 innings while allowing 63 hits for a .213 BAA. As a starter at Clearwater in 2015, he'd gone 4-12 with a 4.72 ERA and had had an ERA of 4.00 or higher each of his seasons as a starter.
