Frisch was impressive across two outings at the Area Code Games. He scraped the 94-to-95 mph range with his fastball both times out, flashing an effective changeup and slider. The changeup has historically been the primary off-speed pitch for him, as Frisch’s breaking ball wasn’t very sharp in previous outings on the showcase circuit. His second appearance in Long Beach gave hope the pitch can improve, however, showing sharper action and more consistent depth. When he was able to stay through a semi-windup that has some present effort to it, the foundation of future control and command were there. Frisch already has a pro-ready frame and fastball, flashing the foundation for three solid pitches. As a cold weather arm, the stuff could take a step forward next spring. A team could make a run at signing Frisch away from Oregon State if his velocity stays in the mid-90s and the slider keeps showing rapid improvements. |
