NOTES FROM THE FIELD, INSTRUCTS:

  • Medium frame, muscular and athletic build. Big league body.
  • Fast, strong swing; takes a big hack; puts a charge into fastballs but lacks discipline and expands vs. spin.
  • Plus batspeed and explosive hip torque give him surprising raw power. Can drive his pitch to the pullside with loft. 
  • Muscular lower half and big swing get him going slowly out of the box. Runs average underway. 
  • Moves well in the field, athleticism and playmaking ability grow on you over time. Handles SS and can move around the infield. 
  • Above-average arm with strength and carry. Finishes plays from both left-side infield spots and can throw on the run.

SUMMARY: Ceiling of athletic utility infielder with sneaky pop. Prospect value lies in his athleticism and projection; raw at the plate and needs overall refinement. Will be just another guy in the high minors if he can’t refine plate discipline and offensive approach.
