Mechanical Notes
High 3/4's arm slot; pitches exclusively from the stretch. Big arm swing with hook and wrap. Drop-and-drive. Arm action hides the ball in back slightly; soft front side, tends to open early.

Overall Summary
Physical reliever with arm strength and a chance for three average-or-better pitches. Has high-maintenance mechanics with the effort and funk in the delivery, but is a very good athlete and repeats O.K. Strike thrower, but has below average command in the zone. Fastball gets hittable, flat when up, but shows above-average life when he reaches back and locates down. Not afraid to pound fastball in on LHH. Throttling back as a rotation piece; has shown above-average to plus velo in the past & believe he has more in there and would see a 3-to-4 mph bump in a bullpen role. Slider is his best pitch right now. He likes to add/subtract and shows feel for spin; dials up late bite for put-away. Uses almost exclusively to RHH. Lacks a real weapon vs. LHH. Pitches to a lot of contact now and gets away with fastball's up in the zone. Concern over past shoulder trouble as an amateur. Tough to see him repeating mechanics enough to get to average command and run through a lineup multiple times; best suited where he can go hard for shorter stints. Could get to a Role 50 set-up projection if the above-average velo comes back.
