With some projection to come on his already large 6’3” frame, Pierre has the tools to project as a corner outfielder. He showed above-average range in right field, although the average arm could ultimately push him to the other corner, and he projects for above-average raw power. In my limited look against younger pitchers, he laid off spin, worked into fastball counts, and was able to inflict some pull-heavy damage, while aggressively jumping on any fastball near the zone early in the count. His aggressive approach likely prevents everyday impact—better pitchers will exploit it—but there are corner OF tools to work with here. |
